چکیده
Oral films (OFs) continue to attract attention as drug delivery systems, particularly for pedatric and geriatric needs. However, immiscibility between different polymers limits the full potential of OFs from being explored. One example is pullulan (PUL), a novel biopolymer which often has be blended with other reduce cost alter its mechanical properties. In this study, state-of-the-art in fabrication techniques, three-dimensional (3D) printing was used produce hybrid film structures PUL hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), were loaded caffeine model drug. 3D control spatial deposition films. HPMC found increase mean properties films, where tensile strength, elastic modulus elongation break increased 8.9 14.5 MPa, 1.17 1.56 GPa 1.48% 1.77%, respectively. addition, orientation also explored determine could maximize The results revealed that modify whilst circumventing issues associated immiscibility.

متن کاملEffect of oil content and surfactant addition on color and mechanical properties of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose emulsion-based edible films
The rearrangement of the oil droplets in the film matrix during film drying, which defines its internal and surface structure, has an important role in the optical and mechanical properties of the emulsion-based films. The objective of this work was to study the effect of oil concentration and the use of surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) over color and mechanical properties of hydroxyprop...

متن کاملAntimicrobial activity and the properties of edible hydroxypropyl methylcellulose based films incorporated with encapsulated clove (Eugenia caryophyllata Thunb.) oil
Antimicrobial activity and the properties of edible film were studied by incorporating with encapsulated clove (Eugenia caryophyllata Thunb.) oil as a natural antibacterial agent. The minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC) of clove oil inhibited the growth of E. coli O175:H7, S. aureus and L. monocytogenes were tested in the stationary phase. The results showed that 1.0, 1.5 and 0.5% of clove...
متن کاملDesign and Evaluation of Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose Matrix Tablets for Oral Controlled Release: A Historical Perspective
Hydrophilic matrix tablets (matrices) for oral use are designed to hydrate on swallowing, and form a ‘gel’ layer of hydrated polymer at the tablet surface to control the rate of drug release during passage of the matrix through the gastrointestinal tract. During gastrointestinal transit, the matrices are reduced in size through surface erosion and dissolution. This reduces the probability of ex...
